The sixth edition of the European Universities Games will take place in Lodz – the third largest city in Poland, located in the heart of Poland. Lodz is an academic city with over 65,000 students, the Polish capital of creative industries, clubbing and festivals. It is a fascinating and diverse place, which is reflected in the old palaces of factory owners, large-format murals, flavours of four cultures, factory halls and chimneys, and vibrant Piotrkowska street.

EUSA has granted the right to organise the European Universities Games 2022 to Lodz University of Technology, the Academic Sports Association and the city of Lodz. Lodz University of Technology is one of the most prestigious universities in the country. It is, among others, the winner of the competition for “The most innovative and creative university in the country in creating professional prospects 2014”. The university has for many years perfectly combined education and sport. The Academic Sports Association (AZS), on the other hand, is the largest organisation involved in sport in the Polish academic community, bringing together nearly 50,000 people at over 200 universities. The AZS has over a hundred years of tradition. The organisers of the EUG 2022 are planning to provide venues for competition and leisure activities for up to 5 thousand participants all over Lodz. Students from Europe will compete in 19 disciplines at 20 sports venues.
